Your Support Will Make a Difference
Earlier this month, we launched a fundraising drive to fully fund our ambitious global agenda to Stop Violence Against Women. As our thoughts turn to helping those less fortunate during this season of giving, please consider making a generous gift to this path breaking campaign.
|Your response to Susan Sarandon's email two weeks ago has been enormously heartwarming. Susan's call for donations to Amnesty International's all-important campaign to Stop Violence Against Women has already generated more than 500 online gifts. With your help, we are well on our way to reaching our financial goal before year's end.
For those of you who have given, please accept our deepest thanks. Your donations will lead to better lives for women and girls everywhere.
We still need to raise $400,000 by the end of January 2005 to fully fund our global agenda, to arouse public awareness, build a coalition of nations to press for changes in international laws, campaign to free women prisoners of conscience, and spotlight and protect women human rights champions.
It boils down to this - violence against women and girls is a global epidemic. Amnesty has devoted the next two years to accomplishing an ambitious human rights agenda, using the full weight of our global influence - to raise awareness, pass new laws, free women prisoners of conscience, and protect human rights defenders.
This is not one of those issues that happen "somewhere else" - the plague of violence affects women around the globe including in the United States. Your help, either by donating or forwarding this message to a friend, will go far toward Amnesty's work to make life safer and more just for the neglected half of our planet's population.
